Yearly Events and Celebrations

Little Lambs is a vibrant and fun-loving faith community! We enjoy celebrating holidays with different parties, parades, and gatherings.

St. Francis Pet Blessing: On the feast of St. Francis (October 4th), the OLMC big school hosts a pet blessing on the outdoor basketball courts. The children are permitted to bring their pets from home (accompanied by a parent), or a picture/stuffy of a pet they would like blessed by our Priest.

Halloween Parade: On Halloween, the children are permitted to dress in costume for the day. Each class will have a Halloween party to celebrate and the entire preschool will march in a Halloween parade around the OLMC school to show off their costumes. Parents Welcome!

Thanksgiving Feast: The Tuesday before Thanksgiving, Little Lambs hosts a Charlie Brown-style Thanksgiving feast with snacks and decor created by the children. Parent’s Welcome!

Christmas Pageant: During Advent, the children prepare Christmas songs for the Nativity Pageant for parents and relatives hosted in the Hall or Church during the week before Christmas break. The Pre-K reenacts the Nativity Story accompanied by songs prepared by the three’s and young four’s classes.

Christmas Party: Each class celebrates the last week of Advent with a Christmas class party and a pajama and Polar Express movie day.

Catholic School's Week: The Children are able to participate in out-of-uniform theme days for the entire week. Preschool theme-day favorites include: Farm day (with a petting zoo!), Field day, and Mass day.

Valentine’s Exchange: On Valentine’s Day, the children are permitted to wear Valentine’s outfits and hand out Valentines to their class during their class party.

Ash Distribution: On Ash Wednesday, one of our Deacons or Priests at Little Lambs distributes Ashes to the children and staff.

Easter Egg Hunt: After Easter break, the children participate in a festive Easter egg hunt to celebrate the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ!

Donuts with Dads: On the feast of St. Joseph the Worker, the Preschool hosts a morning Donuts with Dads celebration where children prepare gifts for their Dads to present to them while enjoying a morning donut and coffee.

Mother’s Day Tea: A favorite day in the preschool, Mother’s Day Tea is celebrated in the Marian month of May- the week before Mother’s Day. The children prepare gifts and songs to present to their mothers during a tea and brunch celebration hosted in the Hall.

Pre-K Promotion Ceremony: During the last week of school, Little Lambs hosts an evening Pre-K Promotion Ceremony to celebrate the Pre-K students moving to Kindergarten. Each child is dressed in a Little Lambs baby-blue cap and gown. The Ceremony includes songs the Pre-K children prepare, a year-recap video, and a post-promotion gathering in the Hall.

Last Week of School: The Last week of school is a festive week filled with theme days including: Water Day, Ice Cream/Popsicle Party Day, and Movie Day.

Marian Processions: To celebrate our Blessed Mother’s Solemnities, the preschool gathers in a short procession around the OLMC school where Marian hymns are played and the children wave blue ribbons. We process for the Solemnity of Mary, the Holy Mother of God, The Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception, The Solemnity of the Assumption.
